Wharton management Professor, Maritine Haas, has found that a mix of "cosmopolitan" and "locals" are key to team success. Having worked on projects in different parts of the world, cosmopolitans have a bird eye view and may be able to see the global implication of teams’ actions. Also, Locals are ware of what consumer in particular country want from a new product.

Haas suggests that companies should make their team size small and ensure to meet everyone face to face on a regular basis. They should not overload the team members and must them autonomy. Haas has found in her research that being autonomous is one of the global team’s success.
